This morning we got up and opened presents and all of that good stuff. It was probably the best Christmas we'd had in a long time. My sister got in the shower to get ready to go to my aunt's house and halfway through the shower the water cut off. Our water pump for our well broke. We're not sure if we're going to get a new pump and all of that or hook on to city water. If we hook onto city water, we have to dig a trench about a tenth of a mile to the top of our road (we live on a private road). Either way, it's going to be very costly and we're going to be without water for at least another day probably. Just keep us in your prayers and that the cost won't be too insane and all of that good stuff.

yeah- that stinks.

though if you don't have to deal with the freeze/thaw cycle and frost lines like we do up here- its probably better.

good luck with the project. Either way I see a shovel in your future.

The guy is coming at noon to dig up the well and all of that. He said that our pump sounded like it was too new to be broken so it may just be a wire that came loose or something like that.

On a lighter note, when I need to go to the bathroom, I have two options: go pee outside, or make sure I have a 5 gallon bucket full of water so that I can pour it in the back of the toilet after I flush. I had to make two trips down to the pool this morning to fill up buckets so that we would have enough.

We lucked out big time. Some wires got coiled up and all they had to do was cut the wires and pull the back together. That's a lot more inexpensive and easier to fix than had we had to replace the entire pump.

Our water pressure dropped big time yesterday so this morning we called a friend of ours who is in construction and has done a lot of the remodeling of our house. Him and dad have been working on it all day and we've come to the conclusion that we have to get a new water pump. Great.

The thought of SJ without a show for 7-8 days isn't real promising.

I went from Friday until Tuesday without one. Once we got the pressure back up, we started getting a lot of dirt in the water. We ended up replacing the tank and all of that stuff which we were going to do but not for a while. I finally got tired of smelling myself and went to my grandma's house to take one during halftime of the UF game. Things are working fine now.
