The answer is "no." But for the sake of discussion, are some stats of how Christians think that they are:

http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1717/glenn- ... ns-mormons

It's a survey from '07. I've got to think with the recent rise of Glenn Beck and his constant spirituality pontification, that the numbers are going in the wrong direction.

I'm not an avid Beck listener but I catch it from time to time and every time he's talking about "turning to God" and spouting off other spiritual talk that sounds very Christian, I just can't help but cringe at the thought of Baptists listening thinking what a great Christian guy this is.

Wow, It would take a lifetime to convince me that Americans of any denomination are truly Christian. Glen Beck portraying himself as a Christian is absolutely absurd . My opinion has nothing to do with Mormanism but more to do with what comes out of his mind and reaches his mouth.

That's my point of view, eventhough that point of view has nothing to do with being American, its just that I live here. I hope that you don't take offense at that statement as it is just my view of how things have become and believe me when I say that it makes me sad and angry at the same time.
A Morman, from a Christian point of view, is in fact a Christian if he accepts Christ as his savior and salvation. So, I guess Mr Beck has testified enough to be a Christian. Nuff said!!!!!!!!!

Individual Mormons can be Christians, I suppose, if they have trusted Christ alone for their eternal salvation. They won't learn that from Mormon doctrine, though.

The Mormon "denomination" is not, however, a Christian "denomination" by the historic tests of the church. The Latter-Day Saints deny the deity of Christ, the sufficiency of Scripture, the Trinity, and salvation by faith alone, among others. Their Christ's atonement is insufficient to cover the sins of the entire world throughout all time -- that takes a divine sacrifice, and that's something that the Mormon less-than-God Christ is certainly not.

None of us are in any position to judge the salvation of anyone else; that's up to God. But we CAN judge whether or not a specific group is a Christian group or not -- we judge them based on their beliefs, compared to those of the early church. Mormons have been weighed in that balance and found lacking.

Funny you say that. I told my wife that something about Glenn Beck is creepy when he starts talking about God and how we all need to pray. Just a feeling I got when listening to him. Later I found out he was Mormon, and I guess that partially explained it. The other thing that I find weird about him is how he tries to get all religion's to pray together and stuff. I'm OK with other people having their own beliefs and everyone joining for a common cause, but I guess it creeps me out to see Mormons, Muslims, Christians, etc all praying together however bigoted that sounds.

For those confused or would like a little more clarification, here is a great website that I found last year that compares Mormonism and Christianity. It's a pretty great, thorough outline of the two.

http://mormoninfo.org/

I have had several mormon friends, and I actually spent a large portion of my summer this summer with a Mormon family in Alaska. What makes Mormonism sound so good is that they will do everything in their power to do just that, sound good. They do not want to disagree with you in any way, because they do not want to offend anyone from any religious background. Here's a video that many have probably seen, and it is a little comical, but at the root of the video, it is really sad.

Something that really hit me this summer, is that there are thousands of Mormons going around North America and other regions of the world "preaching" something that sounds similar to Christianity, but in reality, is completely different. Off the charts anti-Christian. It is the Mormon's objective to get people "baptized" as pretty much the end all, and they get involved in the Latter-day Saints church. Church attendance is a requirement, which ultimately goes into a 'feel good' mentality centered around language that uses Jesus-Christ, and God. It's really really sad.

The reason for that is because we're not all praying to the supreme God. Prayer is something to be taken very seriously, and it should concern us to think it's okay for Christians, and other religions to "come together" and pray. Because we can't.
