I have a real heart for young people...have since I graduated high school. I originally came to LU intending to be an education major specializing in Math in order to become a middle school math teacher. After my first semester though, things took a turn and I figured teaching wasnt for me, but I wanted to do something with young people. A couple months ago I was talking to a friend of mine and she was telling me about these wonderful kids she was a nanny for and it got me to thinking about the wonderful things kids are, and how they have a level of joy that really isnt seen in the world today. At that moment I felt the Holy Spirit tugging at me and I felt like God was calling me to go to seminary.
So this summer Im applying to the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary to pursue a Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) with a concentration in Youth Ministry. What Id like to do with it is become a youth speaker. I feel that God can use my being in sprts media to open doors into schools and speak to children and teens and to hopefully help really cultivate that joy that they have at a young age and share with them ideas like finishing what you start (like Im doing this weekend), and finding your passion in life and pursuing it with all your heart and doing what it takes to make your dreams come true.
