A Roman Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands has proposed people of all faiths refer to God as Allah to foster understanding, stoking an already heated debate on religious tolerance in a country with one million Muslims.

what a d-----. How about if I proclaim that everybody should call water, "clearstuff" to avoid confusion. Oh wait, it's because that's not the word for it.

I'm not saying that this priest is doing the right thing, but as someone who comes from a Lebanese family, I know that allah just means God in arabic, it's not like that's the name of the Muslim God, it's just the Arabic word for God

why are people so afraid to offend with our beliefs? If I remember right, Jesus offended with his message of TRUTH!

I am so not into the tolerance level of the world. My God has many names, but I would not consider Allah one of them.

"There is no god but Allah, and He has no children."

That kinda sums it up for me. Allah ain't the God I worship.

See this is what confuses me. Is it like there's an allah and the there's Allah, like we have a god and then God? That quote above is using the english word god as a noun and then Allah as a name. That's why it wouldnt make sense for us to replace gow with allah. And that's putting aside the fact that we speak English and not Arabic.
