from dcrtv.com which is a site for radio and TV news in DC and Baltimore.

DCRTV hears that Redskins owner Dan Snyder's Red Zebra broadcasting arm has picked up four radio stations from North Carolina-based Centennial Broadcasting in the Roanoke-Lynchburg area of Virginia. Including news talk WLNI-FM(105.9), oldies WLEQ-FM,(106.9) and rocker WZZI-FM/WZZU-FM.(97.9 and 101.5)

Freakin' great.

I already get ticked when Comcast (our only "Fox College Sports" affiliate around here) delays showing an ACC basketball game so that we can watch 6 hours of Redskin postgame reports.

Dan Snyder programmed ESPN radio on his 3 and soon to be 6 stations in DC. ESPN radio already has affiliates in Roanoke and Lynchburg. Does he put Fox Sports Radio on those stations and his local programming too? or what?

Wonderful, 97.9 is one of the very, very few radio stations that actually plays decent music...

Hmmm, sort of cryptic yet somewhat incomprehensible.

Glad to see you back posting, dude, you always keep us guessing....at what the heck you're actually trying to say.

I know isn't it fun... Red Zebra took over operations on Monday.... They have been just all sportstalk stations in the markets that are in.. D.C, Va Beach, Richmond... But they aren't going to make all 4 stations that they aquired in the deal sportstalk stations.. More than likely they will keep most of the same formats but just play the Redskins games on there stations....But sense ESPN Radio is owned by our good friends in Forest... look for one to become a Fox sports station... I hope that makes sense:)

Maybe now we will get Rush Limbaugh back in the burg?? That would be nice, now that he signed his ginormous contract!! Howard Who?? I have always found it ironic that the unofficial heart of the conservative movement doesn't have him on the air! But with Danny Boy's money, hopefully he will pony up for RL! And could this mean the SportsLine returns??? Ok maybe I am going to far!

Maybe he will get THE SPORTSLINE back on the air and back to its roots on WLNI.

Is Rich even still in town? Would be nice to have a local sports talk show back. I vote for Larry are the Main host though! Or Alvis!

He's got a segment on the morningline. So he's already got his foot back in the door. But it's interesting the LNI would have the skins on. Because that's WBRG's territory.

Agree, but not a big Tirico fan and really don't like Tafoya.

FSR in the 'burg would be huge.

Sports talk radio begins, and ends, with Jim Rome.
