DG is the man ... even if he did have the misfortune of playing in DC.

Glad to see LU opening up their doors for him. For years he was one of the most vocal Christian professional athletes in America. And did I mention the Houston native & Javelina legend could run?

Anybody know any good spots to watch the fireworks from if you do not go on campus?

That would be too easy.

No idea, people used to watch from CVCC but since they changed where they launched them I don't know of any good spots...I generally park on East Campus, its a walk but last year I got off campus and on 460 much faster than my parents who parked next to TRBC and left halfway through the fireworks (I stayed for the whole thing).

I guess that leads me to my next question...where do they launch from?

2 years ago it was from the bald spot. Last year it was from the parking lot near the Ice skating place. I hope it's not there again this year. I thought it was kind of hard to see with them directly over your head.

Park on 460. Good view and a quick getaway.

last time i saw fireworks they went off from the gravel pit by davids place. we watched from the wingate parking lot. walmart parking lot would probably be a decent place if you could find a spot with no trees between you and 29

Any tips for someone going for the first time? Places to park? To not park?

Campus East offers a convenient escape to 460 East/501/Candler's Mtn Rd.

Yep...and if you need to get to 460 West...well, uh, good luck. However, you will be walking some...but in the end, it does take a lot less time.

I enjoyed the program last night. The band and singers were awesome. Richie McDonald did a really cool set, and the fireworks were pretty nice. I was rather disappointed in the big finish though. and it was interesting seeing that they launched them from behind the FOC. I got a few pictures of the fireworks display and a couple videos. I'll probably have them uploaded before the end of the day

No one else in Lynchburg can put on a fireworks show that is even remotely close to the one LU puts on. This year's fireworks were better than last year's. Launching them from behind the FOC has me thinking...maybe launch a couple after every touchdown we make. It'd look great with the flamethrowers...logistics could be problematic considering the FOC will be full of people, but I'm sure another location to launch could be found.

Yea Why dont we just put them in the aisles of the student section and shoot them off when we score touchdowns... We might get a few burns but Im sure the baptist side would appreciate it.

We used to go to the same barber shop for years. I knew a ton of Redskins because of that place and because some lived on my street including Danny Weurful (Sorry for sounding like Sly). We were going to come into town for this because we have been the past few years and it is always nice to see D Green but we ended up staying in Richmond.
