among other green changes at school.

http://www.newsadvance.com/lna/news/loc ... ides/5947/
Lee Beaumont, director of auxiliary services, said one recent change was the

elimination of food trays in the cafeteria.

The trays no longer need to be washed, and students tend to waste about 10 percent less food when they don’t use trays, Beaumont said.

I have to admit, back when I was rolling at LU, I wasted quite a bit of food.

So did I. However, back in the day, you had to go with the shotgun approach to eating as it was often hard to determine at first glance which random dish was the non-rancid one.

I swear these people think they got something... If we dont get too much food and end up wasting some they are going to throw it away anyway, they make it sound like we can just put it back or whatever isnt eaten is shipped to a 3rd world country straight from the caf.... Friggin Al Gore.

My first reaction to this was "What are they going to use for sledding?"

Then I remembered that the ravine is gone, so it doesn't matter anymore. :oldhag

They still go sledding on the hill...of course somebody is gonna hit a parked car again one of these days.

or go down the steps awkwardly on their way to band practice, fall, and blow out their knee. Again.

Hypothetically.

The ravine is still there, the last time I checked. Did somebody move the ravine and not tell me about it? Medic, this may be your first case: a stolen ravine on the LU campus.

For the record it was a hill...but it was karate class, and the hill was wet (It had rained the night before pretty heavily).

BJ, you were practicing karate on a wet hill?
:rainy + :fight = :medic
That just sounds like you were asking for trouble.

I was on my way out to class that morning and one foot slipped while the other stuck in the ground and all my weight went to the leg that stuck in the ground and that's where the tear in my ACL came from (and further aggravated the torn meniscus)

Who needs a hill...there's a freaking mountain that I used to sled down when I lived on East Campus.

Well waht does LU do with the leftover food? Do they just throw it away like a lot of other schools do or do they do the honrable thing and donate it to places like the Daily Bread?

by ATrain
Neither...they freeze it overnight, and then zap it in the microwave and re-serve it.
