Best of Lynchburg '08 - Romantic Dinner

We've all been there. We've put ourselves in the doghouse and the only way out it is to pony up for jewelry or the more cost effective method of a romantic evening highlighted by a nice dinner. What I am looking for is your choice as to where you take the significant other in your life for those types of evenings. Perhaps it is a good place to pop the question or make a major announcement.

Please make your selection and explain what about the place makes it special. Is it the ambience, the menu or simply the waitstaff that takes care of you.

I am looking for more nominations so don't hesitate to bring them.

If I need to make amends for something I go to her favorite restaurant – Kanpai a Japanese steakhouse here in Richmond. It’s the best Japanese steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot. If we were in the ‘burg it would probably be Crown Sterling simply because she loves it there.

Picked the Crown. Main St has awesome food and environment, but the owner is the biggest d-bag I have ever met-and that's saying something. If anyone has worked for him or knows someone who has, then you know what I mean.

I really need to try the Shoe or Millstone next time.

I wouldn't exactly call La Villa romantic.

Maybe replace it with Porter House (Sachico's). I've never been there, but a lot of people go there for anniversaries and such.

I agree this should be on there. Had the rack of lamb with the escargo as the app. Really good. Though the rack was served as a roast and I prefer it cut into chops. Quite tasty though.

IT is a very secluded place known as Rancho Haizo. It servew only two clients and their best item is the Sofa Dinner and Movie. Very nice and not that expensive! But small client base!
