This is a tough category to describe. To some this requires white table clothes and an extensive wine list. For our perhaps we'll just use this as a place to rate the higher end options in the area.

Crown Sterling is good; I’ve been meaning to make it to the Depot Grille.

Should I add it to the list?

And where is HMO's input in this thread?

Well I'm at Neighbors Place daily that place is unreal, my rewards card they gave me has a hole burned in it...but I really dont know what you mean by fine dining...I really wouldnt consider it "fine dining" simply b/c my meal that I eat there is about $8 or $9 but you cant beat the atmosphere and the crowd it attracts.

I voted for Millstone simply b/c I dont think you're going to create a "special occasion" poll

And if "Fine Dinning" means once a month or every 2 months then Main St wins hands down...best food in the area

Dish is a close 2nd

Dish is very good overall and unique to Lynchburg. Easy to spend more money than you think. I really need to hit the Main Street.

it's the cheese. It boosts the bill up. I went 2 for 3 on my cheese selections but they were nice enough to bring me a 4th because I thought the one was so gross.

Gotta go with Main St. even though i used to work there....the attention to detail their is prolly the highest you'll find in the lynchburg area, and more than 60% of the time you are getting a meal cooked by the owner himself....every tuesday or thursday, but at least once a week throughout the summer a truck of fresh seafood would make deliveries don't know if thats still the norm but it warrants checking out...very refined wine list if thats your thing...also check out the oktoberfest as Urs the owner puts on one heck of a menu with pretty authentic german fare...
props to bullbranch for dinner back before dish was opened im pretty sure its the same ppl running dish as bullbranch but they can cook either way...a little less stuffy than main st.
as far as neighbors place that is not really fine dining but it is head and shoulders above any of the chain joints around campus for the money i would choose it over outback red lobster and that whole crowd.

Don't know if it will belong in this category, but I heard a commercial this morning for the restaurant in the new Hilton next to Dickie's. I think it's called 4025, and it just opened. Someone needs to check it out and give a full review.

It ranges, i think the most expensive thing on the menu is like $25 for steak. From the guests ive talked to everyone has been really happy with the food. They brought the chef in from Va Beach.

Yes, the restaurant is literally just inside the front two automatic doors. You can eat inside or out on the patio.

Right now just FYI - they are only serving breakfast and dinner to my knowledge.

Hard to categorize but it was one of the first really hip places I found in Lynchburg. Good food and then it becomes a very urban style bar/club. Love the owner.

The mussels at Bull Branch are really good, and they make a dish with fresh mozzarela, tomatoes and balsalmic vinegar that my girlfriend swears by. I've tried it once and it's fantastic.
