How do YOU buy music?

Even though I have an Ipod, I still buy cds and rip them to my computer and then to my Ipod. I like having the cd still. I don't trust the whole credit card thing on itunes, and I also don't have time to sit there and download all that. So I take 2 minutes and run in New life and get the CD. So this brings me to my question, how many of you have moved totally to i-tunes or something like that? And since the poll part is anonymous, I'll add some tricky options.

I really don't buy music very often. I'm kind of stuck in the same era of music. But when I do buy music, I get it off of ebay. I don't really ever buy any brand new stuff so I get it for like $2.

How recent stuff are you able to get that cheap?

the last thing I bought was a CD released in '06. Really you can get anything for that cheap though. If somebody bought a CD and decided they didn't like it, it's gonna wind up on ebay.

I normally stick to CDs. Although I recently downloaded an album off Amazon MP3 because the CD was no longer being produced and that was the only website I could find where you could download it. I couldn't even find it on a bittorrent website to download illegally. I burned them onto CD once I downloaded them. I don't trust hard drives to be the only source of my music...

I buy 8-tracks off of Ebay.

When I buy it, I use iTunes -- usually because I've got a gift card. If I've got an Amazon card instead, I'll use it. I haven't spent my own money on music in a long time.

I am a mix between iTunes and CDs. If there is a particular song I like I will usually just get the track off iTunes if I can find it.

this isn't a choice, but this is what I do...I download music using bit torrent, then if I really like a cd I will go out and buy it either on itunes or at a store...but if it is one of my favorite bands I will go ahead and just buy it. Normally if I buy a cd I go out and buy it, there is just something about opening up a cd with the album art and all that...anyways, thats what i do...

Ares is a Bittorrent program...its available for free, but there are a couple places that'll charge you to get it.

actually, if a album i want is significant cheaper (like $3-$4 less) to download off itunes/amazon than it is to buy it at best buy or any other store, i'll probably just download it and burn it on cd and save the money.
i downloaded a bunch of albums on spiralfrog.com today. it's free, but the songs have DRM and you have to renew your free license on the website every 30 days for the songs to work. but I have a program that removes the DRM so I don't have to do that

I download a lot of music off torrent websites using uTorrent. I still buy a decent amount of cds if it's an artist I really like. I own somewhere around 300 cds but I have nearly 9000 songs on my PC.
