Right in between Jersey Mike's and the Vitamin Shoppe.
Did you see that one coming HMO? That should make things interesting.

You can eat, take vitamins, and tan right in one sweep???
SWEET, NOT!

The girlfriend went yesterday and said it was pretty expensive, so he may be ok. Although most of the people I know that go tanning are still going to Madison Heights and paying $1.50 instead of Tan State and $5.

This would have been aproximately 30% funnier if you have said "the dog" instead of my dog.

Yeh, I knew about it...it was funny b/c we were always at the same spot at the same time buying things for the place. It wont effect us at all though. 90% of our business comes from Jr's and below which all go to the $1.50 place in Mad Heights...now they are starting to go to us bc we're the next cheapest in town. That place is just as expensive and in some area's more expensive then Tourasol which is by far the most expensive in Lynchburg.

I thought the Mad Hts place got busted for hidden cameras. At least that was the rumor at one point.

I just had heard that the other day as well and immediately thought about this thread...i guess people just like it cheap and don't care if they are being taped...

I hear that was started by a guy down the street who was jealous of the business that he was getting....I dont see theres any way theres truth behind it or he'd be going to jail.
Either way it shows the ignorance of college students to drive 20 - 25 minutes then wait an hour to save $1.50 - $2.00

You just insulted your entire customer base.

If you think it's a 20-25 minute drive to that place, you're either an idiot, blinded by your own marketing, or both.
And they're saving $3.50.
Gotta love tearing down your competition with facts that aren't true.

maybe he was talking round trip. add gas to that and you aren't saving much, the convenience factor evens out any savings they would have. I think HMO is good to go

what if you carpool?
Posted: May 7th, 2008, 2:43 pm
by JDUB
carpool would be cheaper, but HMO still has the convenience factor. Because of that he will always have business

I still know a lot of people who would rather drive seven minutes and pay $1.50 than go to North and pay $5. He'll always have business, but to call people who choose not to go to his place ignorant is, well, ignorant.

It wasnt meant to be a put down...at all...more of the funny habits of college kids
I have no idea how this turned serious...i thought he was joking after my post hence the smile...but whatever...ignorant was only talking about the inability to see the logic not a put down. I dont care if they went here or hot spot (who's the next cheapest behind TS) it's just funny to think thats worth the few hours they spend
But the cost at TS is now $3 after the first week of being open...but you sounded confident with the $5 so I had to recheck what I changed the price to

obviously people will still go to the cheap one, but HMO will get plenty of business, thats my point. obviously he won't get a monopoly, he doesn't need one.

pet peeve....people call others ignorant and try to defend it as if its not an insult....
on the other hand...if you truly believe its ignorance then admit you are putting college students down...
tanning is free though...its called the sun...
great post i know...

ignorance doesn't have to be insulting. You're ignorant about what my cubicle looks like. That's not insulting, it just means you haven't seen it before.
In this case if college kids don't realize that they're wasting more money on the way out there than they're saving.
