I'm looking to rent a house or condo (8 nights) in May for me and the family as my wife is taking an intensive at Liberty. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I’m looking for alternatives to hotels. PM for more details.

Gracias!

The Extended Stay hotel near campus is a popular choice for intensives, if you can't find a house/condo.

Good luck with this. I know a lot of people are hesitant to rent out there home but it's done all the time in this area for the High Point Furniture Market twice a year. We have a 3 bedroom condo and rented it out last fall for a hefty sum ($1700 less 10% commission for the week) and plan to do so again for both markets this year. We had absolutely no issues with the people who rented it. I hope you find the right place.

I know that County Green used to rent out furnished apartments for a week at a time. The aparments are by no means luxurious, but wouldn't be a bad alternative to a hotel. They are about 10 minutes from LU. Here is a link to apartment information.

Thanks for the input. I checked out both the Extended Stay and the Country Green apartments, but I decided to go with a cottage off a small lake outside of Boonesboro for the same price of a hotel. FYI for anyone traveling to Lynchburg or anywhere else for that matter: If you go to VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner) you can find some really great places to stay. This is where I found this cottage. They have fishing and boating for the kids and since it’s on a private lake, it’s free. After the trip, I’ll bump this thread and comment on my stay for any other interested travelers.

BTW – adam42381, that’s not a bad gig to have – $3,000 grand in pocket for renting out for two weeks in the year. Nice!
