I don't know if others have noticed, but there's a push for Chipotle in Lynchburg coming from somewhere. It started as just an online petition, but now they've got groups on Facebook, a website, flyers around campus, and God only knows what else. Do they really think that some online stuff is going to get a restaurant to come to a town that's already saturated with places that sell tacos?

Franchise sure! Corporate not a chance. I mean if I see enough names on a petition for something that is a potential business opportunity i'd give it serious thought and try to find the backers.

My only experience with Chipotle was in Baltimore and it was less than satisfactory. Admittedly, that may have had less to do with the food than with the tranny who served it to me.

Chipotle does extremely well around college campuses where there are no better alternatives. But they do seem to be rather proud of themselves based on their franchise fees and startup costs considering they can use just about any available retail space. Frankly I am surprised there is not one along Wards Road.

Personally their burritos aren't very impressive to me. Then again, I have other top shelf options like Freebirds. But somehow Chipotle manages to keep a bunch of locations open down here.

Count me as one who doesn't like Chipotle.

i would just much rather stop at a taco truck on the side of the road in california than ever step foot in a chipotle. Way cheaper, and much better.

And they can fire up the engine when they see health inspectors coming. Brilliant! :dance

I'm now craving a Freebird for dinner and its just after lunch here in Texas.

actually i dated a girl in cali whos dad was a health inspector and he said some of those trucks were cleaner than your average resturaunt because of the fact that health inspectors were always coming there.

But the portion of Chicagoland that you call home isn't exactly Mexico Del Norte. Tortas at lunch rock.

no theres mexicans where I live, they just dont live there. if you know what i mean. ( dont take that as a racist statement)

I just hate it when people go to chipotle and think they are having authentic mexican food. Taco bell is more authentic than chipotle

i saw a sign in north for the petition and was about to rip it down but decided not to since there was a camera above my head and i wasn't sure if that would get some stupid penalty or fine or something

I like Chipotle. It's better than most of the places already in Lynchburg. Their burritos are better than Moe's, IMO.

something that I would sign a petition to bring to lynchburg because we desperately need one here: Dunkin Donuts. There is only one place to get donuts in this town and thats the bakery, and it sucks. We have enough burrito places, lets get some dunkin donuts around here.

That bakery was a Dunkin Donuts before it was that bakery. It didn't work out.

Actually donuts are not popular down here in Texas since taquitos and kolaches and standard breakfast fare. But we do have Dunkin Donuts and a number of other chains.
Are we back?
