Sky Angel IPTV

For those of you that are unable to view the Flames televised games via satellite, (like GYMTALK) there may be another way. Go to
www.skyangel.com and check out the IPTV device. I am lucky enough to get the satellite feed here in San Diego but some of you could not get it because the signal is blocked by mountains or trees. If you have a high speed internet connection, you can get the Sky Angel feed on your television with the new IPTV device.
I hope this helps a few of you that live outside Virginia get the Lady Flames home games.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that Liberty and Sky Angel's deal is ending pretty soon.

Hold My Own & ToTheLeft, you guys gave me a scare with your reply's to my post. I thought I was going to miss the 2008 home games.
After talking with Sky Angel and The Liberty Channel, this is what I found out:
Sometime in March, the Sky Angel satellite service will no longer exist. All Sky Angel programming will be via the new IPTV service. They also confirmed that they would continue to carry The Liberty Channel.
The Liberty Channel also confirmed via e-mail that Sky Angel will continue to carry their programing.
I hope this clears things up.

Ahhh, hadn't heard the details behind it, only that the Satellite was folding.

Cool. Consider me interested. If they can pick up a few more basic channels then I might be willing to disable the cable. I can live without ESPN (yeah, I realize I am a sportscaster) but my wife with die without HGTV and my kids live for Boomerang and Sprout.
Since I've never used an IPTV connection at home, can some of you give me the lowdown on the quality and reliability of the format?

Kind of like VOIP, but for television instead of telephone.

Since I will be losing my satellite feed and will have to switch to IPTV, the first question I asked the Sky Angel rep was how is the picture quality compared to satellite? He said the quality would be about the same.

Fumble told me yesterday that the locals should be able to pick up the Liberty Channel with a UHF antenna.

I could always get 19 that way, but can't even sniff 50!
13 clear as crystal though!

Same here. I'll be curious to see what happens with the digital mandate coming up.
$15/month is kinda pricey for Sky Angel IPTV. But I guess if somebody is interested in that lineup

that may be a good price.
