A reporter fron US News and World Report was at Liberty on Thursday. He went into classes, interviewed students and profs, and even attended a hall meeting. He was here for the mag's report on the top colleges in the U.S.

hopefully we will get favorable reviews. That report is widely known and many use as a resource, and many schools use it for marketing purposes.

We've been in the fourth tier category in the US News and World report for a while...lets hope we move up some to gain more respectability, academically speaking. Not only will moving up make us look better, it'll give other conferences more reasons to consider us.

what are the tiers?

1st - Ivy League and MIT
2nd - Ivy League rejects like Duke and Stanford
3rd - good quality schools that you're proud to tell people you go to like UGA and PSU
4th - LU
5th - ?
6th - Community Colleges
7th - ?
8th - Radfurd

it is offensive to some of us who attended "3rd tier colleges" and found it more challending at LU. That is an insult!!

There are only 4 tiers:

1st-Ivy League, Duke, Stanford, W&M, MIT
2nd-Hampden-Sydney, VMI, UVA, VaTech, etc...
3rd-Lynchburg College, Bridgewater, VCU
4th-LU (both Liberty and Longwood), CCU, UNC-A

I guess we could call community colleges 5th tier...and then Radford I'm sure will fall below that if they add another tier.

that may be one of your more bizarre posts. I'd love to hear the rationale attached- are you drinking again?

Basically my rationale is what I remember seeing in it when I last glanced at the thing...which has been a while. Plus, I never said I didn't mix up numbers and stuff...but if I remember right (thats a big IF) the examples listed are where those schools fall. And PAMedic...no, I haven't been drinking...its against the Liberty Way, remember? :P
