OEDb Releases 2008 Online College Rankings
Upper Iowa University tops second annual online college rankings from Online Education Database
(PRWEB) January 23, 2008 -- OEDb (Online Education Database) released their second annual Online College Rankings earlier today. OEDb's Online College Rankings 2008 ranks 41 national undergraduate colleges and universities that offer most or all of their degree programs online. OEDb recognizes these colleges and universities as the leading degree-granting online colleges.
Upper Iowa University topped this year's rankings, followed by LeTourneau University and Liberty University. The remaining schools in the top ten include: Nova Southeastern University, California University of Pennsylvania, Grand Canyon University, Regent University, Champlain College, Westwood College, and Tiffin University, respectively. Other notable rankings include ITT Technical Institute at 16th, Kaplan University at 17th, and the University of Phoenix at 25th. In 2007 Grand Canyon University topped OEDb's list, which ranked 21 schools.
Each school's ranking is based on data derived from up to eight different metrics: acceptance rate, financial aid, graduation rate, peer Web citations, retention rate, scholarly citations, student-faculty ratio, and years accredited. The overall rankings list each college by its average ranking for each metric for which data was available.

Its interesting to me how many like-minded Christian colleges are on the list. Some of you ay not realize it, but LeTourneau is an East Texas school known primarily for its aviation program until they went fullscale into DLP. The namesake of the school was one of the big donors to many Christian colleges such as Cedarville and Tennessee Temple.

Silly me...
...I thought LeTourneau was just a hot teacher with a thing for 14 year old boys.

LeTourneau U was at one time one of the few christian colleges offering engineering degrees. They are probably among the tops of engineering schools, hopefully one day LU college of engineering can surpass them.

I lived right behind LeTourneau with a buddy from LU for a summer. His dad was a prof there. Nice place. Too smart for me though. Bunch of engineers there.

I can think of no good reason to be in that backwoods East Texas town outside of the school. Glad you made it out alive.

Thanks! I honestly thought I was living in hell. The heat and humidity just about killed me.
