Effective immediately, this will be my last post on FlameFans.com. It's come to my attention that my involvement here is inappropriate, so I'm going end that involvement now.

Thanks to everyone for the fun. You can be sure I'll keep reading.

SCORCHO, you've been nothing short of classy and have done a great job of managing the insanity around here.

Now I have to email you to find out how to program my VCR and update my computer.

Boy do I know how this feels...if LU isnt careful they will chase off everyone who ACTUALLY knows what's going on up there at the University and leave it to speculation from outsiders...they just dont get that not allowing him to give info for the University/defend the University actually hurts more than allowing him to post.

For the record, Liberty is far from the only school to restrict its employees from posting on unofficial sites. It happens at nearly every major public university as well. That said, I don't agree with the policy anywhere. Hopefully after more thought on the mountain, the current restrictions will be eased.

Every employee of a company is privy to information that the rest of the public should not know. If you trust their judgement enough not to lock them into the basement during nonworking hours (because they could just as easily leak information during a normal conversation), then you might as well trust their judgement on a messageboard. Heck, that way you yourself can keep track of what they are and aren't saying about you.

it just boils down to some employees that dont have any current projects so they lurk on here and inform people who normally wouldnt care but now they've been told so they have to do something...luckily I know who my leak was/is

I'm not worried for SCORCHO- he can handle himself (ok- he married UP) but its still a shame.

I think this shows that we are being monitored and watched. What a cushy job...read and monitor FlameFans all day and report any subversive activities. Must be one of the "guests".

Wonder if it is time to take the site private and must register to read so we can protect our freedom of expression?

I say we find out who told on scorchy and punch him in the stomach. He's most likely a nerd anyway. And now thanks to him there's nobody here to defend that slap in the IT department's face.
