Young America’s Foundation is pleased to release its fourth annual “Top Ten Conservative College” list in response to the frequently asked question of which colleges we recommend to those seeking conservative colleges.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of students begin their college search. Admission guides, seminars, advice from friends, and help from advisors all offer different perspectives. Presented with so many options, confusion often clouds this important decision-making process. Given the requests for Young America’s Foundation’s recommendations, and to aid in making the right decision, we are proud to release our fourth annual “Top Ten Conservative Colleges” list.
Here is the list:
  • Christendom College - Front Royal, VA
College of the Ozarks - Point Lookout, MO
    Franciscan University - Steubenville, OH
Grove City College - Grove City, PA
    Harding University - Searcy, AR
    Hillsdale College - Hillsdale, MI
Indiana Wesleyan University - Marion, IN
    Liberty University - Lynchburg, VA
St. Vincent College - Latrobe, PA
Thomas Aquinas College - Santa Paula, CA

The only one I haven't heard of is Franciscan and Harding. Hillsdale is the only college in America that doesn't accept a single penny in government money. All of them are pretty small private schools, right around the 3000 populations or smaller, I believe and obviously aren't D1 and I don't even think D2 so that would explain why most people haven't heard of them. I think the College of the Ozarks is known for having one of the most beautiful campuses in America, but I'm not sure on that and don't feel like doing the research. I've actually been to St. Vincent one time when I went up to visit some family near there a couple years ago. Once you get past the main entrance it's a decent campus. The only problem is that it's in the middle of nowhere (there is a pretty good outlet mall about 30-45 minutes away though) in Amish country and there's a lot of abandoned factory type things around there, including one directly beside and across the street from the main entrance so that is a terrible sight to see, but at night when you can't see them, the main entrance is pretty sweet because it's a long road surrounded by trees on either side and no lights, so it's pretty foreboding. The "downtown" part of the city - which appeared to be the only part of the city that had any signs of modern civilization - looks like it's even older than Lynchburg.

Isn't Hillsdale that fictional HBSC that everybody went to on The Cosby Show?

Hillman! That's right. And then that's where all of those kids were going on the spinoff Different World. I used to watch that as a kid, but I'm pretty sure I didn't understand it. I saw an episode of it again within the last few years and it seemed like it took itself a little too seriously.

I could be wrong, but I believe flamesbball84 might be thinking of University fo the Ozarks for its beauty. But that's a different school altogether.

You're probably right. I didn't realize there was actually two Ozark schools...

And they are neither related or even remotely similar in mission. Frankly they irritate each other and neither wants to budge of their name.
