No matter what you do on the internet you'll get some spyware...this is the top rated software out there. It takes up little space and should be something you all download.

I dont know why they wanted to offer this for free but they did...all you have to do is download the .EXE file from the link I provided and then go to the spy sweeper software website give them your email address and get a year subscription to their updates (they will send you an email within the hour, mine came within 5 minutes). The first time I ran it they found 50 different cookies and traces.

here are the websites:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/o9zdz3 (bottom of the page is the link)

http://www.webroot.com/activate (Webroot is the makers of Spy Sweeper)

Here's some more info on the software

This offer ends on 1/17/2008

*Scorchy if you want to move this to a sticky or announcement to the courtyard that's cool...but I just knew it would get swamped by whatever 30 topics ToTheLeft starts

I figured that something had hijacked your computer and that this was spam. I guess I was only half right.

If I'm using McAfee for free then do I still need this?

I'll let Scorchy offer more insight but I dont think McAfee offers the same protection...this is for spyware and that is for Viruses. I also have Anti-Virus software...but that never picks up the same things that Spy Sweeper picks up for me...

Personally if I was you i'd install it, run a full system scan...see what it comes up with and if you like it keep it and if you dont uninstall it and you wasted nothing but a few minutes of your time

Actually the McAfee suite I have running on my laptop has spyware software. I used to be a big Spybot guy until the latest round of software came along. If Spy Sweeper is the best then I'll install it.

Actually after further review it wasnt you that I was thinking about (although the threads like "LU Big South Champs" or "LU doesnt lose at home" did stick out in my mind) although the real spammers are the Hate or Love threads and you are not starting those :D

I was able to run the scan, but it says I need a subscription to fix these threats. Is this correct? Or am I missing something?

I'll PM you...something went wrong...when you give them your email they give you a Serial Number that is good for a year of updates and threat fixes
