We don't need a map to know to stay away from that part of town.

Possession of Cocaine at the top of my road. Great.

I wonder what the threshold of crime is before it appears on this map? Does there have to be a conviction before it's on here?
Hmmmm.

at minimum, an arrest. Or else we'd see "stabbed in the hand" on there.

I thought so, because I just saw a list of police response to calls in my general vicinity and it was much more detailed than this map. I'm trying to find out if I can get my own copy of the list I saw through a FOIA request.

As we learned with the Jerome Simpson fiasco, FOIA applies at the federal level. I don't know that that would apply.

Okay, okay. You got me. It wouldn't technically be a FOIA request since that's a law applying documents controlled at the Federal level. You win.
However, most states have "sunshine laws" of some sort, and there are plenty of resources for requesting open government records in the state of Virginia. That's what I was getting at, even if I didn't state it in a technically correct manner.
Edit: If you look at the following site, in Section IV, K, you'll see what is and isn't open in regard to police records in the state of VA.

Those jerks in Horry County, SC seemed perfectly willing to provide me with a mug shot of Simpson, but they kept telling me that some other department would have it. I went around in circles before I figured they just didn't want to give it to me.

Stay away from Miller Park
Funny, back in the day (early-mid 70's) the baseball team practiced at Miller Park.

The map is for all arrests made during the WEEK of November 11-17, 2007. That's a lot of arrests around Miller Park for a single week!

i think all townies are amazed/appalled at the naievity of LU students regarding 5th street...
miller park/5th/park ave/ half of rivermont/ ANY STREET NAMED AFTER A PRESIDENT THAT CONNECTS TO 5TH ST.
all places people should not go on foot, and the presidents streets, well you stay off of those altogether...
for those that dont know, there is a major gang presence in Lynchburg...
Bloods/Crypts/MS-13 (anybody want to take a wild guess as to which streets they can be found on?)
estimates of $500,000/mo. in drugs are shipped through the burg...
that being said, there is a cozy little place on the corner of 5th and rivermont... its called the T-room, and you haven't experienced lynchburg until you've been there...
(but its best after midnight - and they're closed on sundays)

You must live five blocks from me then. 3600 Fort is right near the top of my road. At least I think it is.

Not quite. 3600 Fort is near the Fort/Memorial fork, near the Hillcats stadium.

Nevermind then. I'm dumb. There was something near the top of my road, I just don't know what part of Campbell Ave it was.
