One of my former students and former LU & Steelers tight end Eric Green was seen on campus today at the Flames Cub luncheon. It was great to see Eric back on campus!

I was in the building working on something and had Jump On It by the Sugarhill Gang playing and he came in dancing to it. I got a chance to talk to him for a few minutes.

I remember when he walked the halls of LU. It was like the parting of the red sea wherever he walked. People just got out of his way! Big dude.

Nice though. He was back then and he is now. He remembered me from College after I shot his interview for TV on Saturday. He even asked how some mutual acquaintences were doing.

All too human, and it kept him from having a pro career that matched his talent. It looks like he has really gotten his act together, which is great to see.

I remember him catching a long TD pass in a Monday night game and Gifford saying "never has 280 pounds moved so swiftly or so gracefully". He was probably closer to 300 at the time, but still had the mobility and dexterity to get open and make catches which few tight ends of any size could make.

It was good to see Eric over the weekend on campus. He's still a fun-loving guy who now calls Orlando home.
