Rooting around the LU site:

I found this from the debate team. I thought this was a cool idea to see where LU graduates have gone onto graduate school post-Liberty. Serves as a validation of the prep that an LU degree provides. I wouldn't mind seeing a similar list, albeit without the specific student names, for other schools within the university. A list of graduate schools attended by graduates from each School (business, education, etc.) on each "school's" webpage within the university would be cool. A second list of colleges that have fed graduate students into LU's graduate programs would also work. For instance:

LU School of Business:

LU Undergrads' Postgraduate Institutions:

University of Virginia
Boston College
University of Kentucky
etc.

LU Graduate Students' Undergrad Institutions:

William & Mary
Ohio State University
etc.

Just a thought to see who's funneling into LU and where LU grads have competed successfully for grad school attendance.

I concur - you would think that the Alum office would be all over this idea. What better way to promote LU academics than to show where graduates have gone for additional studies. You see this in ads for private high schools all the time as far as what colleges and universities their grads will be attending. Plus it would provide away for those who have attended the same schools (but weren't aware of it) an opportunity to connect. I'm sure there's a number of LU grads who are UVA alums and it would be fun to know who they are. We could form a LU/UVA alum club - and call it the Flaming Wahoos or something like that :D

We have alumni at UVA, Washington & Lee, Ohio St., Tennessee, Miami, Pepperdine, Baylor, University of Houston, Northern Illinois, and I think Richmond...........these are all the LAW SCHOOLS LU grads are attending right now....

We possibly have a future Stanford Law student in Brian Colas, William and Mary or Harvard Law student in Clay Finley....

We have some very strong programs

Also, a 2004 alum at University of Oklahoma Med School

We have placed our Athletic Training Majors who took the certification exam over the past few years at:
VA Tech
Univ of South Carolina
ODU
George Washington
Hawaii-Hilo
UNC Charlotte

others have gone to PT school and one even got his MD. I think many of the programs at LU are on the upswing in the placing of our grads.

Well, there were at least 4 of us who went to Yale. I went there from the Philosophy program, two others followed me one from Government who earned the Master of Arts in Religion and another from the school of religion who earned a Masters of Systematic Theology. There was another fellow who went to Yale a few years later for a Masters and I believe he ended up at the London School of Economics for doctoral work. I'm trying to finish a PH.D. in Religious Studies at UVA. I know we've had Ph.Ds in other areas at UVA - they've actually finished and gone on to greater things. Lots of Ed.Ds from UVA.

Peter, you should also root around the Honors Program website for similar information:
Many of our recent Honors alumni have been accepted into some of the nation's leading graduate schools and law and medical schools and seminaries, including Alabama, Columbia, Duke, Indiana, Florida, George Mason, Georgetown, George Washington, Florida State, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, Villanova, Virginia, and Virginia Tech, to name a few.

And I can email you a much more complete list, if you like.

Cider, I had not found that particular link yet...but that is excellent news (this is what I was hinting at, a sort of running list that expands year to year.) I kinda expected that the fine honors program would be funneling graduates into further studies elsewhere. Study :nod

My point was more that it would be cool for all of the schools to do what both you and the debate team have done...which I assume is for advertising to future students as a point of validity/benefit of the product you can offer them. :D

I went to, no lie, Sherwin University. What's that? The training program for Sherwin-Williams. Bam. Got a certificate and everything.

Peter (or anyone for that matter), I'm wondering who would or could track this information? I think its rather word of mouth at the moment. Faculty members would seem to be the first at LU (after the applicant) to know. I'm just thinking out loud about the "mechanics" of such an endeavor. Since they are one of the primary places that potential applicants peruse, it would be a great addition to the various department's websites. I would also suggest the Admissions Department portion of the website with each listed by departments. A two-pronged attack if you will.
