I figured I would try some bye-week banter here.

My wife and I are expecting our first in March. That got me thinking. With all of the changes on campus in the last 6-7 years, what do you think Liberty/Lynchburg will be like when we drop our munchkin off for his/her (don't know yet) freshman year?

It's almost certain that Jerry Falwell will be addressing visitors, CFAWers and incoming freshmen via holographic projection by then.

RD will be in his 5th frappin' stint as MBB coach.

There will still be arguments about whether LU should try to move to I-A in football.

Health 216 will be merged into one section of 500 students (oh wait, that is 2008).

CiderJim and I will finally hit our retirement age.

Congrats on the impending fatherhood.

I foresee a college of 30k residential students that has a high profile national reputation for being different than everyone else. And a football team that much of America loves to hate because we're too good for our own good. 8)

What will LU be like in 2030...

hmmm....

Our EMS Chief will have reached 5'5" with a miraculous new medical procedure Cough PA cough

The fountain in the courtyard has become the fountain of youth...well not really it's just had so much soap over the years people come out cleaner so people think it makes them younger.

The students think the 3rd floor in demos has weapons of mass destruction therefore nobody (still) is allowed up there

Thats all I can come up with this late...I'll tell you more later on what 2030 will be like

Props to the I-A comment...that was great

Thanks for doing the math, Fumble. Spring Training & early bird dinners, here we come! :P

I wonder if stories of Hout, Hanky, & Randy will still be circulating then?

There will be 25,000 students on campus.

People will be talking about where to put a parking garage.

Students will be living in dorms that were once hotels (i.e. Wingate Inn, Sleep Inn, Extended Stay America).

I will be the head tennis coach after Coach Johnson retires  .

And...

Students will celebrate finally being allowed to wear shorts to class.

I was going to say that I would be KING OF THE WORLD, but EMS chief of LU would be fine, too.
