HARRISONBURG — Rich Roth and Larry Richmond have never had a narrow focus when it comes to their sports-talk radio show — on the air or off.
When they started broadcasting the program out of Lynchburg a decade ago, they didn’t want to pigeon-hole themselves by talking only about Liberty University athletics or Lynchburg Hillcats minor league baseball.
So they threw in a little University of Virginia … some Virginia Tech … the Redskins, the Orioles, NASCAR.
"The more local you are, the more exclusive you are," Roth said in a recent interview. "Every minute you talk about Liberty and [someone] doesn’t care, you’re kind of excluding them from what you’re doing."
And exclusion isn’t what "The Sportsline" is about. Expansion is a much better word.

Personally, I'd prefer much more LU sports & Baltimore baseball, less NFL talk (which they seem to discuss even during the off season), and much less of "Mr. Skin."

I vote more Football in general (NFL and College), less Rich's marriage is day-to-day and what intern is stupid today talk, and no NBA.

I'm a big college fan. I like the better Fundamental bball. NBA is nothing but playground ball. Just MHO!
