Lynchburg is growing, and they know it. So they want all of us who are here (and maybe some of you who used to be here) to tell them what we like about Lynchburg. I personally took the opportunity to plug athletics at LU in response to the question about what every visitor should experience in a visit to Lynchburg. (I specifically said an LU football game in the fall and a Hillcats game in the summer.)

If you're interested, you can take the survey here: http://www.lynchburgislistening.com/

What to do?

The View of the Area from the gazebo by the LU Logo. That was easy!

You forgot to mention that the Hillcats hire the highest quality beer servers in the area

i plagiarized from here. i wrote to go to an LU football game, and on top 3 things i wrote hike to LU

1.) travel to walmart a few times during the first week of school
2.) attend hall meeting and prayer groups on a tuesday night at LU
3.) start at one end of timberlake... be running late for a date or appointment at the other end... make sure this is between 5 and 7pm on a weeknight.

on a serious note, hiking to the LU is awesome (that view is sweet). hillcats on a tuesday night... even better.

well i've lived in Lynchburg for nearly 23 years now, i've never been to an LU football game and I don't relaly feel like i'm missing much of anything. i'd rather go across town and watch a Lynchburg College men's lax game, they are normally a top 15, if not top 10 or 5, team pretty much every week the past few years.

i went and filled out that survey, wow talk struggling to come up with answers there! for the last question i could only pick two things and then for other I had to put "there isnt anything else worth doing"

If you haven't seen a Rocco coached team at Williams, you have no idea.

don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

then you'll be wondering why you've been wasting your time on D III sports when you could sit among 15,000 screaming fans cheering at a REAL venue.

PS: meet us at the FF.com tailgate before the game as our guest

i'd rather be "wasting my time" watching a winner than watching a bunch of losing LU teams play in the lame Big South. Yeah ahve fun knowing most of your teams will never be able to compete on the national scene, while some LC teams are competing on the national scene NOW. and I could care less rather they ahve 15,000 fans at the game or zero. I dont go to a game to socialize with a bunch of people, I go to the game to watch the game.

ok.

disregard the offer.

so much for being polite. :D

PS: any particular reason you post on here w/ us "losers"?

I hear Winthrop's board is looking for BSOUTH football haters

BTW- your post was ignorant enough BEFORE you edited it.

I can't think of any reason you'd post here with such a chip on your shoulder. I don't recall anyone disrespecting you, guess I could be wrong.

the fans arent the losers, it's some of the teams that are. and yes I know LC has some losing teams, but other than the men's basketball team (because bball is my favorite sport), I don't watch the losing teams any.

you just said I wasted my time with D3 athletics, I find that to be very disrespectful seeing as how I gave 4 years of my life working within the athletic department. I guess that all meant nothing since I was wasting my time though.

my apologies for inadvertently impugning your career with the LC athletic dept

out of curiosity, do you consider our track and field athletes competing at nationals and finishing top 5/ top 10 as "Competing on the national scene now" ?

how 'bout baseball beating nationally ranked teams?

how 'bout WBB going to the Sweet 16?

or MBB in the tourney?

or every other team beating nationally known/ranked "big" schools?

legitimately curious, as you seem to feel LC faces superior competition.

And we should care because? You come on an LU athletics message board, talk smack about their teams being losers and then complain because someone disrespected you?

Please.

If you're not interested in Liberty or the Big South, then what are you doing here?
