That seems very fitting. Nice to see Steve putting in his word on a man that was very influential to him.

Can't wait to see the letters to the editor complaining about this one. Personally, I hope it goes through no problem though.

As much as the townspeople hate our LU monogram, it will be interesting to see what they say about the "Jerry Falwell Parkway." Remember the discussion the town had a few years ago my renaming one of the streets "M.L. King"?

I think a lot of that discussion was because of the street they picked to rename, not because of who they wanted to name it after. Memorial Avenue already had a name, and a good one at that.
Highway 460 is just a generic government designation, so it should be less controversial. It won't be though. No, this time it will be all about who they want to name it after.

Don't forget about the argument after the MLK Blvd designation finally went through. The signs weren't big enough. So they had to put up bigger signs. I'd imagine they would demand smaller signs if this goes through.

Oh I didn't forget, though I'd like to. That was the most unbelievable bunch of...stuff. Sometimes people in this town can really frustrated me.

I remember that, too. I think the small signs cost something like $250 a piece...and then the people wanted bigger. But at least L-burg got the money back by selling the smaller signs to businesses or something like that.

There must be quite a few businesses named Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
