May 31, 2007 - When the Rev. Jerry Falwell died May 15, he left behind a powerful conservative movement, Liberty University and an influential church. Now Falwell’s vast enterprises are selecting new leadership. Jerry Falwell Jr. has been named chancellor of the school, while brother Jonathan is expected to head Thomas Road Baptist Church, which draws 12,000 worshipers in Lynchburg, Va. NEWSWEEK's Alexandra Gekas spoke with Jonathan Falwell about his father’s death and what’s next for the Falwell family.

NEWSWEEK: How is your family coping with your father’s death?

The link contains a video that Darrell Laurent gets a ton of play in and for some reason has a bed of banjo music through much of it. Be forewarned there is a Mel White video that automatcially plays right after the 8-minute long story.

Interesting read on Jonathon.

Side note on Mel White: I was not aware that his son, Mike White, who was just recently on Kimmel about a month ago or so, was the scribe who penned such movies as:

Orange County
School of Rock.
Nacho Libre

I was not aware either, PP. Its interesting because all three of those were quality movies.

As for the interview, I like how Jonathan is keeping the big picture in perspective. Hopefully he never loses that focus.
