What schools have the best sports?

Since we're talking about overall schools, I was wonder what school had the best program in sports. I'll admit, I'm a high school baseball junkie. I know some people on here like HS football and basketball too. I know some schools may be different classifications, but just go on overall competitiveness.
Football
1.
2.
3.
4.
Basketball
1.
2.
3.
4.
Baseball
1.
2.
3.

Clarify. You're talking about Lynchburg area high schools?

Yea. Bedford County, Amherst, Campbell, Lynchburg City, etc. The same area we've been talking about.

I'm not factoring in LCA b/c they don't play the other schools enough to effectively compare.
Football:
1. Amherst -- easily
2-3. Glass / Heritage -- Glass used to be the power around here until they were re-classified up and now they struggle. Heritage plays in a lower group but the annual Glass-Heritage game is always a dogfight.
4-5. Brookville-Liberty -- decent year in and year out
6. Rustburg -- they'll have a good season every few years
7. Appomattox -- always bad
Basketball:
1. Glass
2. Everybody else.
Baseball:
I have no idea.
Now, if we factored GW-Danville into this mix, they'd be at or near the top in all categories.

Football...remember, the VHSL breaks down each classification into two divisions, but I am going with over-all.
1. Amherst, hands down.
2. Heritage, great coach, had a long win-streak a couple years ago
3. William Campbell...a perenial group A power
4. Brookville/Glass (tie)
Basketball (I am going year-in and year-out)
1. Heritage, until BV knocked them off this year
2. Brookville
3. Altavista...a group A power.
4. The level really DROPS after those 3. I have no idea what Libertine has been drinking putting Glass up top.
Baseball
1. JF/Heritage/Amherst...all 3 are consistently great in group AA
4. Liberty HS...fine coaching with an improving program
5. Glass. Tough to compete in the Valley District.
6. Appomattox...this is a sport in which they do well.
7. Rustburg...they just haven't been the same since that steller senior class from 2002.

ouch...i mean LCA does play quite a few teams where anywhere from 1-5 players go D-IA....thats more than a lot of these schools on these lists can say
Baseball's a toss up....the Seminole is one of the better leagues in VA (top half) and it's always very a good battle....theres no "dynasty" like there was for JF back in 98-2002, and that was simply b/c of the Tan man (Daniel Tanner) who ended up failing out of UVa

How many state FINALS did that dynasty make? HHS did in 2000.

That was back when they HAD a team. They quit the program a few years ago and I think just started it back up

Rich Lambert was there.....He used to coach at LCA and then went to Faith.....then left to help Marty Chandler coach at E.C Glass and then last year once Chandler left Glass he came back to LCA and coached there Middle School... I have always liked coach Lambert, hands down one of the nicest coaches that I ever had....

when it comes to public school basketball, everything starts and ends with heritage and altavista, brookville can have some good years but they aren't as consistent as those two.
i'd rank the private schools as VES, holy cross, LCA
