I was talking with a guy last night waiting for my son's lax game to start and this guy mentions that he was in Lynchburg some 10-15 years ago on business.
He goes on to say that his local client took him out to a place called the Library for a few beverages and then insisted that he sample the local delicacy - a burger with an egg at the Texas Inn around the corner.
He claims it took him 3 days to regain normal body functions......

i haven't been to the weenie stand, but i have been to the t-room... and the cheesy western was GREAT.

the lady behind the counter was fairly entertaining too... in a non-liberty way kind of way.

surprisingly i have not even as much as heard of either of those places. it took me almost an entire semester to discover the t-room.

it appears i'm sheltered. i suppose i'll just have to take you up on the offer sometime within the next few weeks!

the t-room is open 24 unless that changed, except on sunday mornings. in fact GMTM and i downed a few cheesy westerns over the weekend. the weenie stand is good as well, and as cider said the cavalier on rivermont has great burgers.

i think we hit up the t-room around 1:30 one morning. so yea, i think it is still 24hrs. i think it's funny how the place is such a hole-in-the-wall, yet nearly the entire campus has been there at least once!

the weenie stand is NASTY!! the t-room may be dirty and the lady may have no teeth....but you can't beat a cheesy all the way with a bowl of chili...all under 5 bucks too!! I haven't been there in a long time though....

and yes it is open 24 hours still...just closed on Sundays, like many have you already said

Unless you get your cheesy with a bowl, it's not a trip to the Texas Inn. Weenie Stand #2 is open 24 hours, and is also a decent place to grub if you're in the mood for greasy spoon kind of stuff.

That's all I can remember right now, but I will add that Wal-Mart and the Wards Road Kroger are open 24/7 as well, which can be handy to know. As someone who's worked nights for over two years now, I wouldn't recommend making a habit out of eating at any of these places in the wee hours of the morning.

And for the record, I used to hit up Texas Inn quite a bit back int he day. It was dump 20 years ago so I can only imagine it now. But those cheesy westerns were awesome. Although I doubt I'd find them as enjoyable now at my age.

The t-room is all about atmosphere. You can get the same delicious cheesy westerns at the weenie stand and Myrt's, and the chili at texas inn sucks and tastes horrible.

You've GOTTA get a Cheesy.... Don't look for a certificate from the Health Department anywhere on the walls... and ignore the guy smoking a cigarette over the stove... the sandwich tastes good!
