This morning on Good Morning America on ABC, they did a story on the candlelight vigil last night. They interviews two girls who had on VT sweatshirts. They told the reporter that they were form Liberty University and wanted to come and share Christ's love with the VT community.

Being an alumunus now, it is incredible to see our students having such a great impact.

If anyone had the video form youtube or ABC, please post it.

i had 6 girl-friends that made it to the tail end of the service. they said that as thousands and thousands of people walked out, they were expecting at least a little murmur of noise... but NOTHING. dead silence. they did say that numerous people, including reporters, stopped and asked about LU, why they were there, what they were doing, how far they had traveled, etc.

i don't see the youtube.com video up yet.

that's why i put the "-" in "girl-friends." they are just friends. not to say i couldn't handle 6... i mean, just ask JDUB about that. :)

To bring it back on topic: I love that our students are doing this. It shows what real Christians are and not these whack jobs from Westboro Baptist. I was in Reidsville last night or I would've strongly considered going over there.

It hits home when the kids are your age and so close.

ha, is that why his name is BrysOn? I actually thought to myself the other day, is he trying to make fun of JamesOn? I bet curry taught you a lot of things. Or should I say sold you a lot of things?

i learned NOTHING (nothing good anyways) and bought nothing from jameson curry. although i wouldn't have minded picking up his jump shot or quick first step.

i got the name from friends in high school... because of him. not because i played ball like him, or sold ANYTHING, but just because my name ended with "On." so yes, it's mostly a joke concerning him.

the girls said they watched the president leave, and walked around the campus and prayed in a number of different spots. it's not about us at all, but all i could do was just smile at the thought of 6 girls in LU sweatshirts representing our school like they did. i'm sure it meant a lot to those that saw them.

It's not about us, but it shows we're a real Christian university and that we really do care about people. I don't know if VT took Jerry up on his offer, but he offered all of LU and TRBC's counselor's for as long as they needed them.

This is good to hear. I knew LU would come through positively in this situation.

I was wondering the same thing about you Bryson, how can you handle 6?! It's hard enough to handle 1!

haha. i should have just left it at "6 friends!"

for my own sake, i either try to stick with one or none. :) something tells me i sure enough wouldn't be posting on here if there were 6! i'd probably be making money during the day, and spending all of it at night.
