Falwell Creates Controversy with Mountain Emblem in Lynchburg
By Kirsten Gravely
April 5, 2007
The beautiful city of Lynchburg, Va., is my hometown. The city has been having an extreme debate over a certain issue, which is the defacing of our mountain in the heart of the Lynchburg.
Candler’s Mountain is known for its beauty, and coincidently is located where everyone travels daily. In the past four months, the mountain we cherish has been destroyed for the publicity of a university.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? all these idiots need to get over it! it looks pretty good, the rules were followed and the city gave the blessing....plus LU owns the land. just another liberal puke trying to stir up more controversy.

My Fav part is how beautiful Candler's Mtn is....awww yes nothing better than looking at that beautiful mountain and then looking to the right at the mtn right beside it scorched from a fire....ahhh yes its like paradise
Again, I think old barns are hideous, so I'm going to get the address of each one I dont like and write letters to the editor until something is done

I guess if it was outlined in neon lighting from a closed down strip club nobody would complain.

Here's my favorite part:
Candler’s Mountain is known for its beauty, and coincidently is located where everyone travels daily.
The only things Candler's Mountain has ever been known for are the explosives testing site and as a cut-through to Rustburg.
