Old news, but I somehow missed this one. Given the traffic at the intersection of the existing Sheetz, I have no idea how this is going to work. Does this mean we'll have two Sheetz locations within 3 miles of each other?
Wards Road to get larger Sheetz

Sheetz is in the process of developing a new location on Wards Road.

The Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain has leased the property next to Panera Bread from Mid-Atlantic Commercial Property.

The new 5,000-square-foot facility will be slightly larger than the other Sheetz stores in the area, said Steve Augustine, the company’s director of real estate.

The new gas station will be able to serve 20 vehicles at once and will have the touch screen food station featured at other area Sheetz, Augustine said.

Augustine said the biggest difference will be a one-lane, no-touch car wash. The closest Sheetz similar in size and features is in Farmville.

Augustine said he doesn’t think the company will have to go through any additional rezoning or permits because the property is already zoned for commercial use. Augustine said the company has not set a date to begin construction.

Score another one for Farmville having something before Lynchburg...this time, we got the larger Sheetz first. The only question I have is if they'll close the one on the other side of the road down by the airport.

good idea by sheetz. you get traffic coming off 460 west into lynchburg and would be the first gas station off that exit so you do not have to cross wards, and the existing store catches everyone going south on 29.

up here we routinely have several WAWA's within a block or two of each other.

one particular stretch of PA Route 232 has (3) 7-11's within 1/2 mile of each other. About 3 blocks apart, alternating sides of the street.

Of course, its basically 1 big suburb from Philly to NYC now, too. So per capita/pop density supports that. Dont' know if the 'burg does .

This way we'll have a Sheetz on either side of 29, which makes it easy for those passing through to stop in and get back on the road.

I guess. I'd just rather see something we don't already have going in there. :)
