Why do people get so excited about this? Ok, so you can go into a girl's dorm room and see that it looks exactly like yours, or vise versa. What's the big deal? People were going crazy getting ready for this.

Because we all are/were sheltered. It's part of the brainwashing. YAY! I get to enter a girls room with the door open for an hour every year during college!!! What a thrill!!!

In theory they look the same, but the truth is the girls make their dorms look far nicer than ours...plus it gives everyone an incentive to clean their rooms before white gloves, cook, decorate and all sorts of other stuff we normally don't do.

The best part about living off campus is that you can shut the door!!!! Now that's the college experience

girls dorms smell much better for the most part, and some of them made food. the food was enough incentive to get me out, and i was pretty happy that all the slobs in my dorm finally cleaned b/c girls were coming

thats exactly why its a big deal....transfers from secular college could care less normally, but those of us that only know liberty it is kind of fun....but after the first open dorms you realize it doesn't matter much

it always cracks me up when guys try to make their room into the "party room"....they get lights and music gong, and 2 fat girls dancing in there....haha

it's always the fatties dancing....anyway SJ, it is what it is. it is the only oppty, that you can go into a female dorm at LU, not unless you sneek in

Wow, I about fell out of my chair on that one.

If it were just going into each other's dorms, I don't think it would be a big deal. As it is, it's the only time of the year when most people clean up their rooms decently. Things get all Christmas-y and there's usually food. Not to mention, it's something to do. Never discount having something to do in Lynchburg.

Besides who would want to do anything naughty in a Liberty dorm room - oh yeah, what am I thinking these are college students and I have been married for 22 years - so forget what I just said. Seriously, I think this rule is a little extreme but it did make more sense when all the dorms were constructed in such a manner that you had to go out into a public hall way to get to the shower or use the toilet. So this would make going to the bathroom in just your tighty whiteys a problem.

they should atleast have a time that you are not allowed to go into the rooms.

i liked open dorms cuz i went to my gfs dorm and she had made me a huge chocolate cake, and my dorm really was the party dorm, at one point we had like 60 people in here, no joke. But i agree with above, i went to a christian school last year where they had open dorms from like 5pm- midnight Monday-thursday, 3pm - 1am friday, noon - 1am saturday, and noon to midnight sunday, and it worked out fine for everyone

I always thought open dorms was pretty stupid...but I did see some pretty funny stuff during the yearly event.

One year a couple of guys found an old toilet in the garbage somewhere. They used an entire bottle of some industrial strength cleaning agent and then served lemonade out of it.

I rank 2nd... We have a certain one in the house who is untouchable... actually his door is closed right now!!! Go figure

That was a couple guys on my hall, 7-2, back around 2001 or so. That was pretty funny.
