They've started with visible changes today. It looks like some kind of landscaping tarp has started to be laid down. As of my lunch break, it was just a strip of it. Can't tell if it was going to be part of a letter or if it is just going to be under the entire thing. My thinking is the latter.

yeah, I think I saw it on this board but somebody had taken a picutre of it from the stadium and it would have looked much cooler if it were on the peak where the bald spot is. But, there's a bunch of radar towers and stuff their so who knows where the airport property begins and ours ends.

Sorry that you thought my previous comment was garbage. I was just putting it out there, because I hear things from time to time.

when I went home at 5, the L was done and the U was half done. Well I don't know if they were done but they were a grayish color and very well defined. It was looking really really good.

If the finished product looks anything like the artists depiction from the paper a couple of weeks ago, then the monogram should look quite sharp from wherever you see it.

there was burn marks...at least i think they were burn marks...on the side of the mountain today...almost the complete "L" and "U" are visible...I guess they are starting the planting soon...

are we allowed to walk over there? I know that everybody does, but ever since LU bought all of this land they put up like a million no tresspassing signs. My favorite one is the sign over by LV where everybody likes to watch the sunset and make out. They park their cars right next to the sign with the 10 foot high letters that spell out "no tresspassing violators will be prosecuted"

It is shaping up nicely. It will look very good. I just wish they would have put it one or two mounds closer to campus. I think it would be awesome to look from the Football Stadium and see it through the endzone. Sort of a Touchdown LU thing!
