ok- this had been annoying me for 3 months now and I just saw it again.

DirecTv's program summary for "Live from Liberty" states: "Students host sports, campus news, debates, music and ministry." http://directv.com/DTVAPP/epg/programDe ... =120104477

hardly.

NOTE: I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE CONTENT, BUT: every time I tune in, it is a 30-40 min sermon followed by Jerry selling the Home Bible Institute for the last 15-20 minutes.

I was expecting sports highlights, reports on campus construction, etc. Something similar to what the program listing described.

Have they changed the focus of the show? If so, maybe someone oughta let the cable/satellite companies know?

That's the way it has appeared since creation of mankind. Only the name changed from OTGH.

So it's more an endorsement of JF ministries...no wonder people confuse what LU really is---if it's name is Live from Liberty, it should be a highlight program for all that LU is and offers, not OTGH. If they want to have that, then just have Live from Liberty be 35-40 minutes, and then tack on an OTGH segment. They really need to choose which they wish it to be, Liberty as a bona fide college, or as a marketing ploy to get JF preaching and political philosophies on the air. I have no problem with JF trying to preach on the air waves, but the organizations are separate: LU is incorporated under its own umbrella, and the other ministries are under another. Let an LU program reflect and highlight all the Liberty is and offers, and let the preaching OTGH-style deal be it's own thing. Just my opinion.

I don't think you are alone with that opinion....also think about students out there thinking about liberty, I don't think seeing this version of "live from liberty" would do that. I know there intent is not this, but what they are doing is targeting parents and have more students come in simply because their parents force them to come....i wish parents wouldn't do that, because it makes life that much tougher on us students that chose to be there....anyways, the point being is i do agree, live from liberty should focus on campus events and athletics...yet another way for our athletic program to get its name out there...

funny you should use that acronym, SLY- that's exactly what I said to MrsPA: this seems more like the OTGH show they used to do, rather than some report on whats going on at LU.

the notes in the listing/viewing guide DEFINITELY do NOT reflect the type of programming going on- again, not that its BAD, just not as advertised. I was kinda disappointed.

and I finally watched the whole hour from start to finish. No Liberty anything, other than crowd shots so you could see college kids in the audience.

I've watched before and jumped in and out every 5-10 minutes- have never seen a student run newscast, sports report, virtual tour of campus, or anything like that. :(
