Apologies if already posted/discussed, I just came across this post in the living in Lynchburg facebook group and had to share. Irony of ironies both in the tenant change/proximity to campus and the way the picture was taken.

That is so funny and seeing the tower in the background just makes this picture even better.

A busy shopping district seems like a good spot for one.

It is too close to Liberty University. (just my opinion)
It's like the deal in some venues where a strip club cannot be within a certain distance of a church or school. We do need morals in our communities.

Are you of rhe opinion that this will bring an uptick in crime or something?
Most people who drink aren't raging alcoholics.

So you feel it’s proximity violates a zoning issue?

They aren't even shy about it anymore. Last time I was in Lynchburg I saw several people who I assumed were students (with LU hoodies on) buying beer after the football game at the Sheetz closest to campus. When i was a student the students would at least not wear any LU gear. They are so bold now.

Only for the holy roller fundamentalist zoning official known as ballcoach.

Dang - that is bold. I agree that when we were students, most would at least take the LU gear off - except the ones who were dumb enough to also post pictures of them drinking on Facebook or Myspace, then complain when they got caught. Times have indeed changed.

I’m pretty sure drinking isn’t enforced unless you’re being obnoxious or underage.

I'm an of age 20 something(I'm clinging on to this for the next year) that isn't a student or faculty. I wear LU gear pretty frequently. I also buy alcohol in town.
Not everyone buying is a student.
