Call me crazy but I actually agree with the proposal, being that Virginia is starting to look a lot like New York State, which has its rural counties ruled by the priorities of NYC. Maintenance of local governance is extremely important to the stability of our Union. However, not sure why Jerry is the one proposing this?

Looks like Jerry wants to be the politician's politician. Should've just stick with growing the school Jerry and not join the clown show.

He sent university employees to cover this.

But I thought his politics were separate from the school?

It is an odd conundrum because I agree with 85% of what Jerry says, but at the same time, he needs to stay away from the divisive, toxic clown show that is modern American politics while he is the figurehead for Liberty. The bigger issue is how divisive and controversial political action, especially conservative, is today (It shouldn't be, but unfortunately it is). If the modern American political scene was a respectful and civil environment, I would have no issue with Jr. being involved, however, that is clearly not the case. Still on board with Vexit, though.

Even if there is no Vexit - I could see LU Online relocating to WV - at least the bare minimum required to be considered a WV entity whether that be the servers and percentage of personnel.

This has been proposed and talked about by many others, long before Jr. Got on board publicly. I think it is a good move for S. VA.

Jerry's idiotic political moves are probably going to be the undoing of Liberty. State borders don't have an impact on tax exemption; Northam and the AG probably have some ideas about LU in their minds, but when Liberals gain control of the government, there will be a big fat bulls-eye on Lynchburg.

As Oscar Wilde famously said, “The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”

I guess it’s been too long since we’ve been in the news

I don't mind Jerry doing his thing. I get why he wants this and others as well. Northern Virginia is like a whole different world politically.

Wnat I don't like is, once again he using Liberty's name to help a political movement which is dangerous territory. It isn't new but I wish it would change.

That's actually been the impetus of this whole event. Northam killed VTAG scholarships for online students, which likely was done with Liberty in mind. Jerry doing this will only further put a target on LU's back for the Dem's in Richmond.

The thing that is not mention is that this was going to happen even if Jerry was political and not. People sugar coat how Marxist/socialistic our nation is, especially in politics where oligarchs run things with the coating if "Americanism." We argue all day with what we think, but Christianity is a main enemy to these folks. They're going to come in full force like a cougar when we don't expect it just like many examples throughout history. The thing is are we going to do nothing like the German church during the Nazi control or actually snap back to reality of what's really going on? We'll just have to see.

This seems very Glen Beck-ish on Juniors part

It feels like Jerry is practically daring people to come after him. He’s no longer even trying to define the line between his opinion and the school’s. He’s using university resources to help him advance his political goals. It’s as if the Politico debacle made him fully realize how untouchable he is so now he’s doubling down and doing even more of what he wants.

Jerry is doing his job advancing the kingdom of God and the spreading of the gospel. We are in a culture war and Jerry is a fighter for Christ, you can't just put your head in the sand and pretend that a war isn't going on

How does seceding from Virginia and becoming West Virginia advance the Kingdom of God. I mean, yes West By Gawd Virginia is gorgeous and all, John Denver even said it was ALMOST Heaven. But I fail to see any advancement of the Eternal Kingdom with this move

I saw the clip earlier and it’s sickening. But spot on as to what Liberals think of Trump voters, not just Christians. Not sure what it has to do with becoming WV though

Purple they feel that way about Christians and West Virginians. Red states in general. How long before Manchin jumps ship or get sent packing by voters?

There is nothing that I've seen that indicates there least bit of concern about fighting a was for Christ. I think you are naive if you believe any of Jerry's action are based on what Christ would want. There is the whole "almost Heaven thing," as Purple pointed out.

By the way, Northam mentioned Jerry by name...I bet he is feeling important.

You find that sickening PH??? I love ya man, but seriously? I mean I hate it myself but this is where we are at in today's political climate. Trump continuously mock democrats and those who are critical of him and the democrats mock Trump and his supporters. It is rather sad but I find it disingenuous when I see people who supported Trump all of a sudden see what CNN commentators do as "sickening".

Personally, I wish the political discourse on both sides of the aisle could grow up a little. Maybe we could start having real conversations. We aren't always going to agree but there should at least be enough respect not to resort to name calling and mocking. But this is the America we live in.I feel like I am in this alternate reality where the adults forgot how to be adults and are resorting to school yard bullying.

I am sure I will be countered with a ton of arguments as to why when Trump does it, it is ok but it isn't. It never is. I don't care if there is an R, D or I next to your name. Also, I got 3 hours of sleep last night so I have no idea how put together this statement is.

It's pretty obvious that we live in a time of selective outrage. People get outraged by behavior of folks on the other side of the aisle that they tolerate of folks on their own side. This is happening on both sides of the political spectrum. I wish people were at least honest about it and say, "Yeah, when I agree with someone on various topics, I'm more okay with (insert behavior here)."

Trump is fair game to be mocked as much as they want. What bothers me about the clip is the steriotyping of an entire category of his supporters as being clueless bumpkins. I grew up in the midwest and actually pride myself on never taking on a southern accent in the almost 40 years I lived in VA, but during that time I also met a lot of really smart people who speak a bit differently than me and never questioned their intelligence for a second because of it.
