this could very well go in The Chapel as well but if any of you from my generation of "old hags" remember a kindly old Filipino gentleman who rang you up at either Walmart on Wards Road, or Walmart on Old Forest Road, known simply as "Mr. Gil", well he passed away on Friday. his service is on Tuesday.
He was one of my favorite cashiers at Walmart. I'd go out of my way to have him ring me up.

Mr. Gil lived in my neighborhood in Forest, and when he wasn't at Walmart, he was working in his yard. RIP, Mr. Gil.

He was a rare individual; an engineer who worked at NASA, GE and B&W . He worked at Wal-Mart because he loved people and he certainly brightened everyone's day who came into contact with him.

I always enjoyed having him as my cashier, which is a rare thing to say when shopping at a Walmart. He'll be missed!
