If most posters had dropped the word "mall" in here I would've quickly dismissed it as another cheesy retail development. But the fact that you are using the terminology and closing it out with the word "awesome" has me seriously intrigued from halfway across the continent.

Too bad Craft waited so long to get started on the new digs. I do know that Kroger had been eyeing his property several years ago. There will likely be development announced across from that corner long before his building is gone and the cut through is vacated.

Is this different from the development proposed beside Aldi? There has been a rezoning proposed for that property:

That development is to include retail, with one rather large space, sit down restaurants, fast food restaurants (Chick-fil-A?), and a hotel.

Also I saw a weird Zoning Certification for a proposed Chick-fil-A on the parcel with the old K-Mart where Hobby Lobby is being built. Anyone know anything about this?

It's the 3rd busiest in the country. They probably, and rightfully, believe they can support two more here.

Seems like a CFA in Forest near the Kroger shopping center and one near the Old Forest/Lakeside area would do a killing. I know I certainly would be going to CFA more often since it would be closer to where I am and if I didn't have to deal with the mess that is Wards/Candlers Mountain traffic. I never even attempt to go to the one on Wards Road, every time I am over on that side of town it's packed full.

My understanding is Lee will be owning the CFA on 221. Heard from someone else that the one going in across from Kroger (not owned by Lee or Dwayne) is a sealed deal but outside of hearsay I don't have anything else to substantiate that one.
