Eerie Property on Memorial/5th Street

Does anyone know the story behind the house with all the fire and brimstone scripture and condemnation? It looks like a scene from The Following. I can't imagine how someone thinks it looks good or spreads the message. It's terrifying and is off-putting to every Christian I've talked to about it.
