(not much to go on in the brief report here, and I don't feel like wading thru the whole 40 page indictment)

Henry County sheriff, Frank Cassell has been arrested on federal charges.
An indictment of Henry County Sheriff Frank Cassell and twelve of his officers was unsealed this morning.
The fifty-page document, filed Tuesday, makes charges ranging from racketeering to money laundering to drug distribution.
The indictment names a total of 20 people, some of which are designated as drug dealers.
Also named were a United States Postal Service employee and a state probation officer.

very bad.
Allegedly: Basically these guys, incl the Sheriff himself and the Major, set up a safe house, sold drugs (that they had seized) and carried on affairs both on and off duty, then lied about it to the State Police, DEA, and USPS inspectors, then tried to cover it up and launder the money.
Allegedly.
Despicable.

Got this from someone I know: This has been going on for awhile. SOME former Bedford officers may not be sleeping very well. Not naming names, just saying.............

Probably the ones that are always giving me tickets. And throw in the judges who uphold the fine. The Honorable Judge Black! Black like your heart!!!

You live in Rustburg why are you getting tickets in Bedford??

Actually I haven't gotten one there in a couple years. I used to get them all the time going to or back from hockey games or to smith mt lake etc. Then I just slowed down. It sucks and takes you longer to get places, but it's cheaper.
