Liberty University purchased New London Airport for $1.8 million last week, with plans to bolster its aeronautics school and bring business to the Bedford County airport.
Interesting buy. That place is in need of some serious overhaul. This should be nothing less than an improvement.
By the way, if you ever have the time, take a tour of Freedom Aviation and the School at the airport. Very impressive program.

Dave Young has done an absolutely amazing job creating that program from scratch. I remember my first impression of him was a very good one when he first got here. Glad he is doing a great job!

DY isn't the Dean of the School of Aeronautics anymore. But he did do a good job getting the program off the ground (excuse the pun). The helicopter program didn't do quite as well, but overall, the School of Aeronautics has put LU in rare territory in academia.
