No Whataburger in Lynchburg

A HS kid headed to Liberty this fall is generating some buzz down here in Houston with his passion for Whataburger ...

Somebody needs to introduce him to Cookout even though they don't have his personal favorites on the menu.

Sly, if the boy is moving to Lynchburg for college, this will be his new sandwich of choice:
http://www.zaxbys.com/menu_nutrition/th ... n=5&item=2
And he will likely find it even BETTER than Whataburger's because it also has BACON.

I prefer In-N-Out or Smashburger, but that's just me...and based off of only one Whataburger experience.

We have Zaxby's everywhere here in Houston. I'm sure he has experienced it as well.
For the record, I'm not a Whataburger fan. Although they are strong for a quick breakfast on the run.
Atrain - You might also try Braums in the Metroplex that are based out of SumItUp's neck of the woods. I am down with their bacon cheeseburgers combined with a shake.

Trust me it doesn't take long to discover how great Cook-Out is, after about 3 weeks most freshman will be down to their last $20 and are sick of the Rot and a friend will take them to Cook-Out.

You can eat for two months at Cook Out for $20.

Which is exactly why every LU student loves it.

Don't feel bad, Gretna only got a McDonalds until couple years ago.

Cookout?? Gag. If you're ever in Richmond, visit Carytown Burgers and Fries to learn how a real burger taste.

I think I ran some spots for them during Gretna football broadcasts

Probably one of the few good things about Richmond. Actually you can't go wrong with Carytown and the Mile of Style.

Oh, so pedestrian. Keep driving west to Ellwood Thompson's and eat at Burger Bach.

You call me pedestrian and then offer Burger Bach?! Ha! Burger Bach's food has barely an ounce of creativity. I prefer to eat at places where I can't out-cook the chef.

Whataburger has decent burgers but its not worth starting a campaign over. Everything else on the menu is pretty blah.

There are plenty of good burger places around Lynchburg... we don't need some new franchise coming in necessarily to boost the burger portfolio of the area. Pokey Joe's has a burger event they run two months a year with a whole host of smoked hamburgers that are an awesome value. You also have the Cavalier... Both are 'hole-in-the-wall' type places, but are really good.

Tried the Cavalier recently because of all the recommendations on here. I was really disappointed. The Cavalier burger was OK, but honestly no where near what I was expecting. I've had better at several places around town, including some chains.

The best burger in town is at The Boiler Room. Assuming it's open when you go

Lynchburg has enough places to get a decent hamburger at prices that meet anyone's budget, no need for another unless they are presenting something truly unique and different.

They definitely have a rivalry going. Burger Bach was just voted best burger in RVA with Carytown burgers & fries coming in 2nd.

Bräuburgers in Forest is pretty good. They started out not great when they first opened but their menu has changed a bit and their service has greatly improved. Not expensive either and their fries are delicious.
