Elmer's moving in the realm of fiction these days:
Heritage Builders Publishing has announced that it will publish "Grandpa Pitched for the Cubs," the first novel from best-selling author and Liberty University founder, Dr. Elmer Towns. The sports fiction novel will be available everywhere on May 15, 2015.

Had him for Theology I and II. Glad to see he's still keeping busy.

Is it just me, or are there similarities in that storyline to a certain baseball movie?

Elmer could always tell a story. This could be interesting.

One of my most memorable days at LU was when Dr. Steinhoff, without prompting, broke out in an amazing recitation of Thayer's Casey at the Bat during a philosophy class. He didn't have a single note in his hand and didn't miss a word. I had an awakening that day as to what the college experience was all about.

I remember asking him a question in class one day. He broke into some great 5 minute story about his experience pastoring his first church, then promised to give all of us a copy of a book he was planning to write about his early days pastoring. Afterwards I remember thinking what a great story that was, but it didn't have much to do with my question :-) The man can tell stories, though!
