Yeah, I think 14 schools and one hospital have received threats since Tuesday? My guess would be that some kid just wants his 30 seconds of fame, or someone is attempting to distract cops. Pretty crazy

2 in the last 3 days. Fortunately, or ironically, my wife's school has been the only one not affected. Here is the deal, most bombers take credit AFTER it goes off....

Do you think these are serious threats? It definitely feels like this is being treated as "no big deal." I haven't really seen much information though.

I think with the multitude of them it's being treated as no big deal, and rightfully so. I mean they still have to check them out but they obviously haven't found anything. And again, when was the last time one of these turned out to be real? Usually people take credit AFTER a bombing. Morbid but true

Here is the latest article/update on the threats.
http://www.wset.com/story/24838662/upda ... l-targeted

I went to high school in the area in the late 90’s. We had several bomb threats every year, typically around exam time. But, it was always a student and the student was always quickly caught. I have heard some crazy theories on these threats-timing the response for future attacks, the distraction theory that VAGolf mentioned, etc. Maybe I am just naive, but I never considered anything other than it was some crazy kid again!?

The only thing that concerns me is the attitude of "there have been so many of these...this is just another of the same" and then there is a bomb in one of the last schools...

I hope the LPD take each of them seriously and are still checking each of the threats fully.

Well whoever is responsible got canned according to WSET and sounds like he is going away for a VERY long time, even if he pleads guilty

My wife said the only reason her school didn't receive a bomb threat was because they had just changed their number!

Another one. This time it's at a wing of the hospital at UVA.
