At Heritage High School, Bill and Tracie Hayes enjoy the same type of bond. Both have spent their entire adult lives involved with the game. Tracie is in her sixth year as coach of the Pioneers girls’ squad, the Seminole District regular-season champs this year. Bill works as her assistant, a role he officially took over three years ago.

Isn't this just the sweetest thing? Seriously, it is great.

At a Heritage practice this week, Bill and Tracie each dissected offensive and defensive schemes while trying to break apart patterns they think will be thrown at their team in an upcoming game. They do the same thing around the TV, using their DVR to go through games frame by frame, pausing to analyze plays.
“Tracie loves basketball,” Bill Hayes said. “That’s what’s awesome about it, when you have a spouse that really loves what you do.”

Man, I didn't realize you both coached the same team. How does that work? What if one side of the ball is losing the game? Seems like that would breed some resentment. "Well if we could get a stop, maybe we wouldn't have to score 70 a game!"

Great. I've been outed by ATrain of all people.
And don't believe everything you read in the paper. She's like a KJV Only acolyte. If man to man was good enough for James Naismith it's good enough for me! I 'suggested' we play zone and 'demonstrated' how effective we could be. She then decided to play zone. So actually I coach the defense and we both just pray and point towards the direction of our basket on offense!
And we only average 65 pts a game.

Bill had previously played on a professional basketball team in Israel.
That's all that is said of his PLAYING days: no mention of his prolific high school career or whether or not Purple played in college. Come on, Purple, your fans want to know! Play Basketball

I actually think he is much better looking than I had imagined (don't ask what I had imagined). And I remember watching Mrs. Purple play for the Lady Flames back in the day. You really did marry up, PH.

Man. You ARE old!

And we are CO Head Coaches. I stand during games and she makes 'suggestions' that then become my 'decisions'.

CIDER I went pro straight out of HS

Sly It even got double posted!

TH. I'm just waiting for everyone to get warmed up and REALLY bring it.

If we lose, we can blame it on the N and A Curse!

Thanks. It turns out we didn't 'need' it but it was nice to have it. Plus, Orange is NOT a sliming color.
