Best Hamburgers

There seems to be a difference of opinion on the Lynchburg location of Five Guys. If it is not the best than what is?

Steakhouses and upscale restaurants are welcome as well.

Prime Rib at Bulls was always good to me ... Prime Rib was good at Shakers ... Emil's prime Rib was good as well ... Can't beat a steak at Outback or Texas Steakhouse ... BTW, the prime rib at Outback is outstanding as well

The old Ground Round had excellent hamburgers but that shut down ... Can't beat the burgers at Texas Tea Room at midnight with a bowl of chilli

There also was an old bait and tackle shop down the bridge from the Texas Tea Room in a Green Building off to th e right hand side of the road ... It had a grill in the back and made the biggest burgers for 1.25 back in the late 80s, early 90s ....

Red Dog - I have to get back to Lynchburg for a late night burger and chili at the Tea Room. A cheezy and a bowl sounds good - even at 7:54AM!

I'll 3rd the cheesey western at the the Texas Inn (formerly the texas tea room). 5 Guys is amazing and the best normal burger I've ever had but they don't have a burger with an egg on it. Just not a good place for the kiddies.

Nothing like taking a midnight run to the Tea Room ... The best atmosphere in America ... I loved to go there and take people from out of town there to just experience the flavor of Lynchburg

5 Guys is the best fast food burger but it is a little more expensive (even though they innundate you with propaganda of how affordable it is). The problem with the Lychburg 5 Guys is that they don't have a clue about how to do the Fries. They are always old and dry and tasteless. Every other one I have been to the Fries make the meal even though the burger is really good. That is why I said not to do the Lynchburg one because it would give you a false negative.

You guys rag me on it, but I still say Hardee's has a really good burger. It may just be me, but I like em.

Oh, you guys told me about that and it made me happy. I actually went by yesterday between classes and go the new double cheeseburger thing. It's like 2 double cheeseburgers for 3 bucks. That and a medium drink came out to be $5 even and was really good. It's amazing the people that don't know about the discount.

I didn't know til Tuesday night that Sonic had a discount too. I don't know exactly what it si, but I went with a friend and it was only like 9 bucks when I was expecting to spend a good 11-12 or so.

Sonic burgers are mediocre but I love those Cherry Limeades. I've been drinking them at Sonic since arrived down here in Texas 16 years ago. We have Sonics, Dairy Queens & Whataburgers on every street corner down here.

I kind of think Five Guys is overrated and overpriced. Of course there's really not a whole lot to choose from or compare to. For the price of one of their burgers you could get about 5 or six cheesy westerns, which is pretty much the way to go in the burg.

Since we have so many new posters and their opinions are welcome, I'm bumping this off the back page.

I am ALL ABOUT 5 GUYS. I won't have a hamburger anywhere else in town. I do agree about the fries, they need some help there, but the one in Madison Heights gets it right from time to time.

Where's the 5 guys at?

I'm still sticking with Hardee's burgers.

The one in the 'burg is next to Dicks etc. All the fries you can eat, and all the penuts you want!! Good for a budget!!!
The one in Madison Heights is by the wal mart.
Enjoy!

Never get between a fat man and his fries!! They also have one in Carolina that I graced the other day. Their burgers were bigger and fries a little better. Also the one in Waynesboro is VERY solid. Love the atmosphere b/c it is in a little "Silver" diner type thingy. Very satisying!!

SJ - The nuts are safe. They are in the shell!!! (ANd I have had my shots!)

For a chain burger, I will pick Ruby Tuesays' but ONLY if 5 Guys isn't around.

Five Guys by far. Yes, it is alittle bit pricy, but you are getting a much better burger than at any fast food place. It's still not as pricy as at sit-down restraunts.
