Thanks, but Phil is not invited to speak there. So my question still has not been answered.

I would totally support someone from their family coming out to speak. I just hope it happens after I get there next summer.
We have been watching Duck Dynasty and it's a pretty solid show. Funny and reminds me of my own family sometimes. It's good to see believers depicted in the media in a way that isn't negative. Maybe other media outlets will recognize that Christians aren't the crazy folks we are often depicted to be.

Phil doesn't speak many places. If you're getting someone to be a speaker, it'll be Willie, which is who we got.

Really! According to his bio he is invited to speak to hundred of churches and organizations every year.

Phil's not the most eloquent of the family. But I believe he came to our church a couple of years ago for a men's event before Duck Dynasty went on the air. In retrospect, I wish would have taken the time to go.

Invited and actually going are two different things. Phil is 66 years old. He's passed the baton to Willie on that stuff. He'll still go places, but he's really picky about where.

Itd still be pretty cool to see one of the boys from Duck Commander speaking in convocation (although the suggestion of it led to quite a hullabaloo on my facebook)

As opposed to Bonaroo and Lalapalooza. Both of which would be pretty cool.

It's quite fun. You just can't mind being around copious amounts of drugs and the occasional naked hippie/hipster.

Nope, I've been twice. I just know a lot of people have different sensibilities than I do.

Anyway, it wont get the hoopla of the Tebow visit in March but it certainly will create some buzz as a lot of students are fans of the show.

Do you have other moments you enjoyed at Bonnaroo? Just curious since this is your favorite all time moment at Bonnaroo.

Have never watched the show, but being from Southern Louisiana, I can tell you that their callers are LEGENDARY! No one in their right mind uses any other caller. Did not of his faith, so now I may record the show.

So the two things I got out of this thread are that SJ seems to know these guys personally and most people still haven't caught on that all these reality shows are scripted.

I would say that this one is a little more ad libbed than something you'll find on truTV, but yes, the situations are obviously set up. Still pretty funny even knowing that though.
