It looks like Candlers Station will have a larger vacancy soon... T.J. Maxx is moving to the mall. Any suggestions on a new tenant? Personally, I hope a small, discount grocer would move in.

Steve & Barry's was already in Candler's Station… I think Wal*Mart's new "college store" section meets the same need… (cheap Flames apparel).

Don't we need another Sweet Frog to give Bloop some competition?
Or another BBQ joint would be nice.

Most Lynchburbers would prefer collegiate athletic apparel from other schools though.

You are the high powered marketing exec. I'm just a lowly sales rep. But it would be a good place for one. Although if it could have been combined with the old Circuit City store it would have been epic.

D&Bs is so 1995. Average food with arcade games wears off very quickly after the initial appeal.
Trader Joe's FTW!

Trader Joe's would be great… but they would probably want a better location.

I don't know...Trader Joe's is for more of a (as I term it) "nouveau riche" clientele like you might find over in Wyndhurst or Boonsboro

FroYo...trendy, but Trader Joe's?
I would say that their 54 year run is a bit more than a trend.

Not sure, but I know I was serving it at TN Temple's Happy Corner restaurant in Chattanooga 1979.

FroYo chains go back to TCBY at least, but TJ's predates ANY form of commercial FroYo. You made me curious, so I found that FroYo was first developed in the '70s and the current franchise craze began in late '06 to '07. I'm sure, that after this incarnation of FroYo chains passes (except for Bloop, of course) and an era new one starts, we'll have the same conversation.

I remember frozen yogurt being all the rage around my circles in Ohio in the Late '70s. But it was considered a big city item that we only were able to taste when we "went to town".

Zaxby's. If you haven't been, make sure to stop by the one just outside of Salem in Roanoke next time you are in that area. It's beside the WDBJ7 building if I remember correctly.
Now of course I realize they won't move in to that location because it's too big and they always build or move in to their own building, but still would be nice.

First produced in 1972...

Doesn't all the froyo talk have it's own thread?

Maybe someone needs to tell Zaxby's people about the old Dickey's building.

We love Zaxbys especially on Tuesdays when kids Eat Free.. Then again, Zaxbys & Canes are essentially the same thing.
Nobody else is like Trader Joes.
