Donald Trump at Liberty Convo

In convo September 24th.

Good or bad?

My 4 cents -

I am excited. This is another great speaker for the school. I think a lot of our students can learn from him. It would be nice if our business students could meet with him one on one. Maybe we could arrange that if he isn't too busy? Maybe he'll become a donor?? "Trump School of Business" anyone? If memory serves me correct he will be the wealthiest man to ever speak on campus. Now if we could get Sheldon Adelson to speak next year I would really be excited.

Those in the "anti-Romney speaking at Liberty crowd" will probably also not want Trump here and will make their oppositions known. I'll respond with my typical "no vision" of course.

Well done, Liberty!

This is elite. The only thing I wish was Doc was still around so the two of them could be up there bashing Rosie O'Donnell together. That would be nice.

I really hope asks how many alumni we have and a breakdown of each segment so my presence is needed because I'd really like to get a picture with the Donald *ahem* JLFjr *ahem* . I've always had a great amount of respect for the man.

Unfortunately we're like a clan in the sense we dont move to far away from home base (lynchburg)...so there are hundreds of us running around here, but I like where your heads at...I might have to pull that card. :D

That is my one worry...certainly don't know what to expect if that is the case. I hope he talks about his personal story, how he built his empire, his faith, and perhaps most importantly, his incredible ability to bounce back from near disasters time and time again. At any rate his net worth is 3 billion or so, and I plan on learning something from hearing him speak.

My question is will he be announcing JLFJR or R Godwin as members of the next Celebrity Apprentice!

I wonder if he'll be flying this bad boy in to town... It needs about 6,500 ft of runway for landing and takeoff. Lynchburg's main runway is a little over 7,000 ft I think...

An excellent grab. Hopefully the Donald will be impressed by Liberty. He went to a military style prep school so the case can be made that he is visiting something simlar to his own roots, albeilt at the collegiate level.

Liberty bounced back the same way Trump has. A lot in common, and hopefully a good, continuing relationship can be had from it. :usa

I used to like him. Now he's just a media tramp. But hey, I get it, it's nice for him to get all the attention of us.

Not that what I think matters anyway.

And his politics are just like Mitt Romney's. Hate Bush when everyone hates Bush, now hate Obama when people don't like Obama. See a pattern here? I respect him as a business man, but as a political philosopher he's couldn't possibly keep his crayon inside the lines.

Logic- I'm in favor of Trump coming to town. By comparing Romney's visit and this one I can only assume you didn't read that thread. Anyway, I'm supportive of his visit & I suspect he'll be very impressed with what is happening on LU's campus. Trump can appreciate expansion, growth and the Moody's credit rating.

Read it and had some choice words for the anti-Romney crowd as well. The comment to start this thread was more so because of Trump's 4 marriages and perceived greed. I bet a lot of Liberty folk are up in arms that we're bringing in someone who's been married four times and is not at all afraid to show his wealth. Compare David Green and Trump, for example.

The NA article had some people pretty fired up. Who is Ryan Lacy and why does he hate Liberty so much? More of that and he'll overtake Fred Grysbwski for the number one Liberty hater rank!

Ryan is of one of the regular N&A LU haters. His son will also occasionally blast LU in N&A comments, while at the same time, posting photos to show off his snowboarding prowess at Snowflex. Go figure.
Most people who hate LU don't really have a good reason for it.

If you aren't near a TV or laptop, another option is the video stream on the LU Today app. But i would recommend getting on the stream sooner rather than later.

Let's just say A LOT of our football players were not happy with the Obama bashing. In all honesty, didn't really do much for me today.

It was certainly political in vintage Trump fashion, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on today's convo.
